Two students win Mockett’s design competition

Mocket Hannah

Hannah Eckersley and Michael Nelson, enrolled in the industrial design program at Appalachian State University, were winners of Doug Mockett & Co.’s 34 annual design competition.

“Hannah’s design is an intriguing Art Deco inspired coat hook that takes an ordinary stamped triangle plate and layers it by bending out additional interior triangles that serve as multi-level hooks,” the company said in a statement.

Mocket Michael

“Michael’s design is a floor wire manager that runs under a desk against the back of the desk or against the wall or baseboard to shield and conceal wires safely out of harm’s way and doubles as a footrest. A unique take on ordinary wirestay channels that adds a caddy for power strips and allows additional cabling to run underneath.”
