Timber Products Co. announced that its particleboard division in Medford, Ore., has achieved California Air Resources Board Phase 2 level compliance for its industrial, underlayment and door core products.
Effective Dec. 13, 2010, the Medford facility was producing raw particleboard that complies with the Phase 2 requirements of California's stringent formaldehyde standards. The mill earned its certificate from the Composite Panel Association, an authorized third-party certifier, according to the company.
"This certification is our last step to provide our customers with a complete lineup of CARB-compliant material so they don't have to worry if their inventory meets the latest standards," says Roger Rutan, the company's vice president, in a news release. "Every hardwood plywood, decorative and particleboard panel ordered from our company will surpass the strictest formaldehyde regulations in the world."
Timber Products' mills in Grants Pass, Ore., and Corinth, Miss., also manufacture CARB Phase 2-certified hardwood plywood.
