Second Onsrud wins Baldwin Award

Tom Onsrud, president of C.R. Onsrud Inc. in Troutman, N.C., won the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America's prestigious Ralph B. Baldwin Award of Excellence at the recent Woodworking Industry Conference in Delray Beach, Fla.

The award recognizes one individual each year that has made outstanding contributions to the entire wood products industry.

Tom Onsrud follows in the footsteps of his father Charles, founder of C.R. Onsrud, who won the award in 1998.

Also at WIC, the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association presented Greg Larson of Timesavers Inc. with its Partner of the Year award, recognizing a supplier who has exemplified a true partnership relationship with its distributor members.

Wooden Globe winners, also from the WMIA, went to Blum Inc. of Stanley, N.C. (Educator Award); Premier Hardwood of Syracuse, N.Y. (Commitment to Excellence through Technology Award), and Northland Forest Products of Shakopee, Minn. (Innovator Award).
