Rhode Island shop wins Craftsman’s Challenge

Jutras Woodworking of Greenville, R.I., won the grand prize in the eighth annual Veneer Tech Craftsman’s Challenge, announced during IWF 2012 in Atlanta.

Jutras, which also won the architectural woodworking category, transformed a residential crawlspace into a “mahogany masterpiece” reminiscent of a classic sailing yacht, according to competition’s judges. Indiana Architectural Plywood, the supplier of the veneer for the project, and sales representative John Wright were also honored.
