Public comment open for proposed wood paneling standard

The Architectural Woodwork Institute opened a 45-day public comment period for the proposed American National Standard AWI 0642 – Wood Paneling draft on Feb. 10.

AWI 0642 provides aesthetic and performance standards for wall and ceiling surface paneling composed of solid wood, wood veneer applied to core materials, decorative laminate clad panels, solid surface, and solid phenolic. It includes standards for matching of veneers and panels within building areas.

The 45-day public comment period closes on March 27, 2023.

“During this time, the architectural woodwork community has the opportunity to review the draft standard and share their comments with the AWI Professional Staff and Technical Committee,” the AWI said in a statement.
