The National Hardwood Lumber Association reports the passing of Orn Gudmundsson Sr. of Louisville, Ky.

Gudmundsson passed away Feb. 1 after an extended battle with Parkinson's disease.

“As a leader in the hardwood industry, he served as president of the National Hardwood Lumber Association and the Hardwood Distributors Association. He also served on the boards of the Hardwood Manufacturers' Association, the Hardwood Federation PAC, and the Tropical Forest Foundation,” the NHLA said in a statement.
