New sliding table saw from SCM

SCM introduced the new SI400 Nova 16” sliding table saw to safely and accurately square panels or straight-line thick, solid wood lumber.

The saw features a 16” blade capacity (with scoring blade mounted) to cut up to 5.5” of material and a 10’ sliding table that rides on hardened steel guide ways with ball bearings, according to the company.

The blade tilts using a large industrial screw, sits in a double-hung trunnion mechanism and the entire blade group rises and falls with the blade. Blade controls are located on the front of the machine with two hand wheels. A patented design ensures fluid movement in both tilting and raising/lowering the blade, and also prevents pitch and dust from building in the gear system. The rip fence features a large steel round bar with heavy cast-iron knuckle and has a micro-adjusting feature with a cam lock.
