The Pritam & Eames Gallery in East Hampton, N.Y., presents “The Art & Furniture of Mark Larson and Dan Cramer” through July 8. The Minnesota-based artists have collaborated on a series of furniture pieces.

“The work of these two Minnesotans is a fresh look at furniture. This is not simply painted furniture, but rather paintings on furniture,” gallery partner Bebe Pritam Johnson said in a statement.

The collaboration began three years ago when they met through friends in Mexico, where Larson lives and works each winter. Cramer, who studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, designed all the furniture, while Larson, who has a Master of Fine Arts degree in studio art and art history, created the artwork.

In addition to the furniture, the show will include paintings and bowls by Larson.

Furniture Society exhibitions

Several exhibitions will take place during The Furniture Society’s 18th annual conference June 19-21 at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking in Port Townsend, Wash.

“Faculty Selects” will feature student work, judged by furniture designer and television host Amy Devers.

“Sense of Place” at Seattle’s Northwest Woodworkers Gallery is a juried show open to society members based in the Pacific Northwest. The exhibit opens June 1, curated by maker Peter Pierobon, Port Townsend School of Woodworking’s and the gallery’s director, Sharon Ricci.

The final exhibit is a gallery of members’ work. It will be showcased in the school’s chapel, which will serve as a gathering place during the conference.
