"With three speed settings, superior ergonomics and up to 40 minutes of run time on a single charge, the new LXOB01 delivers increased efficiency and mobility to woodworkers," product manager Joe Soto said in a statement.

The sander has three speed settings (7,000/9,500/11,000 OPM) and a 1/8" random orbit action. A pad brake reduces free-spin for improved overall finish, and a control system regulates pad speed at start-up.

Additional features include an ergonomically-designed body and grip that weighs only 3.6 lbs. (with battery), a through-the-pad dust collection system helps provide a cleaner work surface, and a dust-sealed switch. The LXOB01 uses quick-change 5" (8-hole) hook-and-loop abrasive paper, according to Makita.
