Fine Furnishings Show adds green component

KL Communications, producer of the Fine Furnishings shows, announced a collaboration with the Green Design Center for the 10th annual Midwest regional show in Wauwatosa, Wis.

The Green Design Center will be bringing its mission directly to the show floor Sep. 18-20 through a special awards program and informative presentation.

“Our mission is to educate consumers about the environmental, sustainable and healthy aspects of green building products,” Green Design Center owner and president Andy Pace said in a statement.

The Fine Furnishings Show in collaboration with the Green Design Center has expanded its Best in Show Awards program to include the Degree of Green Awards (DOG Awards). This program will recognize the level to which a product’s ingredients, characteristics and qualities conform to health, environmental and sustainability standards, along with the quality of construction, design and finish. Professional, amateur and student level woodworkers/furnituremakers are invited to participate.
