Fanuc offers rechargeable battery unit kit

Fanuc CNC now offers a rechargeable battery unit kit that provides reliable long-term backup power for CNC machines and eliminates the use of disposable batteries, according to the company.

The unit allows one CNC system to be connected from a power source to the servo amplifiers, and it contains a rechargeable battery and charging circuit that supplies backup power to absolute pulse coders and separate type detector units.

The charging circuit monitors the voltage of the rechargeable battery, and it charges the battery when the voltage becomes low. Because the charging circuit works only when it is necessary, the rechargeable battery can be used for a long period of time. The average life span of the unit is more than 10 years, according to the company.

The kit includes all the necessary cables for one CNC system to be connected from a power source to the servo amplifiers and a connection manual. This kit is designed to be installed with Alpha, Alpha-i or Beta iServo amplifiers and separate type detectors.
