Doucet wins Partner of the Year award

Doucet Machineries was named the 2011 Partner of the Year by the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association at the Woodworking Industry Conference, which was held May 3-6.

Since 1994, this award has been given by the association’s distributor members to the manufacturer or importer who best exemplifies the spirit of partnership in their dealings with woodworking machinery distributors.

The program emphasizes the principle of steadfast cooperation and equal business stature between distributors and our suppliers.

“In today's business environment, partnership between manufacturers, importers and distributors is more important than ever. Each brings something to the relationship that the other needs,” Woodworking Machinery Industry Association incoming president Benjamin Henderson said in a statement. “Manufacturers and importers, of course, bring product and factory support. Distributors bring the customer relationships and knowledge that can make or break a project, and they do so far more economically than manufacturers or importers could themselves. By working together, we are able to offer a superior buying and ownership experience to our customers. The Partner of the Year Award recognizes this fact.”

Every year, the group’s distributor members nominate woodworking machinery suppliers based on their performance in key support areas such as distributor relationship, sales and product, service and parts, marketing support and training.

Founded in 1974, Doucet is a machinery designer, manufacturer and integrator based in Daveluyville, Quebec, and is dedicated to fulfilling the machinery needs of the secondary wood processing industry.
