Benefit concert scheduled for Jon Brooks

In the early morning hours of Jan. 18, New Hampshire furniture maker Jon Brooks lost his studio and all of its contents to a devastating fire. Since that time, Brooks' colleagues, friends, and family have joined together to help Brooks rebuild his studio and return to his work as a custom furniture maker, a profession he has pursued for more than 40 years.

Brooks is a member of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association, which will hold a benefit concert Saturday, April 3. "Rise Up! Out of the Ashes" at the Spotlight Café in the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, N.H., will feature music by Brooks' friends in three New Hampshire bands: Celticladda, Swing a Cat, and The Moores.

Tickets are $25 per person. Artist fees and all proceeds will be donated to the Jon Brooks New Studio Project. For information, visit www.ccanh.com or call 603-225-1111.
