Agora Capital buys reclaimed lumber supplier in N.Y.

Agora Capital LLC, a private equity firm, has acquired Antique & Vintage Woods of America, a supplier of reclaimed wood for custom wide plank flooring, paneling and beams, in Pine Plains, N.Y.

Antique & Vintage Woods of America salvages and reclaims wood and brick from century-old barns, houses, grist mills, factories and mushroom facilities, and has more than 2 million bf of inventory, according to the company.

"I am excited to continue AVW's tradition of providing high-quality reclaimed building products to current and new customers across the country," says Jamie Hammel, managing partner of Agora Capital. "My partners and I plan to bring new energy to AVW to capitalize on its excellent reputation, superior product line, and existing relationships."

Agora says it will focus on expanding product offerings and opening new locations across the United States, through wholesale distribution, retail centers and product showrooms.
