Woodcraft, a supplier of woodworking products and educational opportunities, agreed to be the exclusive corporate sponsor of "Rough Cut - Woodworking with Tommy Mac," a new public television program produced by WGBH-TV in Boston.
"We believe Tommy is ushering in a fresh, new age for woodworking programming, and this pairs perfectly with our objective to stay in front of new, as well as experienced, woodworkers. WGBH Boston's leadership in the development and production of how-to programming is unmatched and we look forward to a successful partnership," says Jeff Forbes, president of Woodcraft Supply.
WGBH, the same public television company that developed how-to television with "Julia Child," "This Old House," "The Victory Garden," and "The New Yankee Workshop," will produce "Rough Cut." The show will be distributed by American Public Television.
The instructional show invites viewers into the workshop of Boston native and fine furniture maker Thomas MacDonald, a graduate of the North Bennet Street School in Boston.
The show is scheduled to premiere nationally on public television stations in October and will also air on Create, public television's digital-cable channel.
