Torsion hinge eliminates slamming lids

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware introduced a 15-lb. torsion hinge that allows easy opening and closing of box lids and also holds them in any position, according to the company.

"These hinges work much like those found on laptop computers," Rockler vice president of product development Steve Krohmer said in a statement. "With their constant torque technology, they'll hold the lid open in any position, and yet require only a light push to open or close. They are really a hinge and a lid support all in one."

The hinge (model 48519) retails for $21.99. For information, visit
