The Regional Wood Products Consortium, a collaboration between Sustainable Forest Futures and the wood products manufacturing industry in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and northern New York, will conduct specialized one-day innovation workshops on marketing in May and technology in June.

The workshops are designed to provide leaders of small- and medium-sized wood products manufacturing companies with opportunities to enhance economic competitiveness and profitability. The content of each segment will help wood products companies in deciding whether to pursue particular innovations. Follow-up assistance will be available, including but not limited to a pool of grant funds that SFF has to help cover a company's cost, as may be applicable, in contracting with innovation service providers.

The workshops provide an opportunity to interact with experts in wood products marketing and technological advances in wood products manufacturing. Each workshop will be held in five locations throughout the region on the following dates:

Developing New Marketing Strategies

May 18 - Montpelier, Vt.

May 19 - Glens Falls, N.Y.

May 20 - Utica, N.Y.

May 25 - Augusta, Maine

May 26 - Concord, N.H.

Making Effective Use of Technological Advances

June 2- Utica, N.Y.

June 3 - Glens Falls, N.Y.

June 8 - Augusta, Maine

June 9 - Concord, N.H.

June 10 - Montpelier, Vt.

The workshops are co-sponsored by the Wood Products Manufacturers Association, Maine Wood Products Association, New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association, Vermont Wood Manufacturers Association, and Empire State Forest Products Association.

Any wood products company in the region is eligible to participate. The registration fee is $25 per person.
