Outwater Plastics celebrates 40th anniversary

Outwater Plastics was founded by former company president Moe Kessler in August 1972 on the premise of providing small furniture and cabinet manufacturers with a source from whom they could purchase extruded plastic moldings in the amounts that reflected their actual requirements.

Yet, less than a year later, a car struck Kessler as he crossed a street in New York City, severely fracturing his leg in multiple locations.

Kessler credits the accident with the two most important components of his business: the addition of his then-15-year-old son, Chip, now a fulltime company salesman, and the creation and distribution of a catalog.

Outwater currently offers more than 65,000 component products from warehousing and distribution facilities in New Jersey and Arizona. For information, visit
