New polycrystalline-diamond router bit available

GDP/Guhdo has a new 6814 series 1/2” PCD two-flute compression router bit designed to create a clean edge on a variety of materials in nested applications, according to the company.

The company says PCD (polycrystalline diamond) has increased hardness and abrasion resistance when compared to solid carbide resulting in superior tool life and finish.

“With the 6814 series two-flute compression bit, you get the benefits of PCD tooling at a cost not much more than the cost of solid carbide bits,” the company said in a statement.

Although disposable, this bit can be sharpened one time and features a cut length of 27mm (just over an inch). The 6814 series excels in machining a wide variety of materials either grooving or jointing particleboard, MDF/chipboard or other laminated panel products up to 1" thick, the company said.
