Porter-Cable introduced its first line of 20-volt MAX lithium-ion cordless finish tools, which include an 18-gauge brad nailer and narrow crown stapler.
“Porter-Cable is synonymous with woodworking and finishing. Battery-operated nailers are the natural progression of the 20-volt MAX system. This new line will provide the tradesman with convenience and efficiency over pneumatic equipment,” product manager Michael Dougherty said in a statement.
The brad nailer shoots 5/8” to 2” nails, weighs 5.1 lbs. without a battery, and has several tool-free features, including a jam release, depth adjustment wheel and stall release lever. The stall release lever resets the driver blade after a nail jam or stall to provide ease of use on the jobsite, according to the company.
The stapler shoots 1/2” to 1-1/2” fasteners.
Both tools will be available in December. The brad nailer will retail for $199; the stapler for $219.
Porter-Cable says it will introduce two 16-gauge straight finish nailers in 2016.
