Safety Speed Mfg. and John Henderson & Co. is sponsoring a meet-and-greet event with Corbin Clay of Azure Furniture Co. at the AWFS fair in Las Vegas.
Clay’s company bested 12,000 other contestants in GQ magazine’s competition, “A Gentleman’s Call,” with $100,000 as the grand prize. He won for manufacturing furniture with beetle-killed pinewood, which poses a significant fire threat in the Rocky Mountains.
With some of the winnings, Corbin recently purchased a 3760 wide belt sander from John Henderson & Co. and Safety Speed Mfg. “With the exception of a rare, custom-sized table wider than 37", every component we produce will go through the sander,” said Clay in a release. “A substantial amount of time will be saved. What used to take hours and hours sanding by hand, can now be processed in a matter of minutes. Whenever we have the option to support American workers, provided that the product isn't sub-par, we will. Not only was the Safety Speed 3760 American-made, it was also the best value.”
Clay will be showcasing some of his handcrafted pieces at booth No. 7623.
