SuperMax Tools announced it has been acquired by Laguna Tools of Irvine, Calif., a manufacturer of CNC machinery, band saws, table saws, edgebanders, and other woodworking equipment.

“We were looking for the right partner to help expand our sanding products and to offer a broader range of products to our customers,” Bill Schroeder, president of SuperMax Tools, said in a statement. “Laguna Tools is clearly the leader in the industry. This is truly a win-win for both companies and their customers.”

SuperMax Tools specializes in drum and brush sanders for the woodworking and metalworking industries.

The acquisition is effective immediately and the change in ownership is not expected to cause any immediate changes as SuperMax’s management team stays in place, the company said. SuperMax and Laguna Tools customers will be able to combine their orders as soon as our new East Coast distribution center is open, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.”
