The CMA has been hosting high-value events such as this since 1998 as a means of connecting similar-sized shops around North America with the purpose of sharing best practices and business acumen, while learning how other businesses do what they do.
The event host is CMA board member Ken Kumph from Premier Builders. Each day will begin and end at his shop in Georgetown, Mass. with educational presentations from industry experts on topics such as cyber security, ways to reduce your shop’s energy bill, as well as lean principles and implementation strategies. Then the group will depart for a visit to The Furniture Institute in Beverly, Mass. and tours at Curtis Cabinetry in Georgetown and Jackson Millwork & Lumber in Raymond, N.H.
The event is sponsored by Atlantic Plywood, Colonial Saw, Federated Insurance, Hoffmann Machine Co., KCD Software, and REHAU.
The registration fee per person is $75 for current CMA members and $125 for non-members. Registration includes lunch and dinner on Thursday and lunch on Friday. Transportation is also provided for those interested in riding with the group. For out of town attendees, the CMA has secured a limited number of rooms at the DoubleTree hotel in Danvers, Mass.
