California woodworking program searching for replacement
Michael Burns will retire May 15 from teaching at the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking program in Fort Bragg, Calif.
Burns was among those who helped to establish James Krenov on the Mendocino coast when Krenov founded the program in 1981. Originally a part-time instructor during the early years, Michael assumed full-time responsibilities in 1988.
The work of College of the Redwoods' students has been recognized as being unique, a quality due to the emphasis on care and involvement with the material and process.
College staff and administration have the expectation that applicants will recognize, respect and foster the principles upon which the program was founded.
The college has posted notice of the open position at its website: www.redwoods.edu/humanresources/joblistings/mendo.asp
