Columbia Forest Products named the winners in its seventh annual PureBond Quality Awards competition, which recognizes interior furnishings built with PureBond hardwood plywood that are visually and functionally distinctive. The contestants, all members of the PureBond Fabricator Network, competed in three categories.
“These are thoughtful and client-focused craftspeople and manufacturers who create quality installations and furnishings for residential and commercial settings using our PureBond hardwood plywood and other related Columbia Forest Products panels,” says Todd Vogelsinger, Columbia’s director of marketing.
Fitucci Cabinets of Valencia, Calif., won the Residential Kitchen category for an installation that featured a “floating” oven hood.
Urbangreen Furniture of Brooklyn, N.Y., won the Residential Other category for its furniture and built-ins using PureBond’s American walnut plywood.
Vermont Custom Casket of Barre, Vt. Took the Commercial category for its sustainable casket and green burials concept.

Felder picks winner
Felder Group USA randomly selected the entry of Andrew Svec, owner of ModHeirloom in Portland, Ore., as the winner of its “Win a CNC and Change your World” contest.
ModHeirloom creates and designs furniture for homes and businesses. Svec owns several Felder machines, including the G 330 edgebander, FW 950 C wide-belt sander, FB 510 band saw, AD7-41 jointer/planer and K700S sliding table.
“He has been a loyal Felder customer for many years and we are thrilled that he is our winner. Andrew is very excited for this opportunity and we are happy that the profit H08 CNC machine center that he selected will help his business grow and blossom into an even bigger success story,” Felder CEO Ruan du Toit said in a statement.
