State-of-the Art Tools… and Support

Vortex ad

Wisconsin based Vortex Tool Company, Inc. designs and manufactures a wide variety of standard and custom high-performance router and insert cutting tools. This American owned company also provides re-tipping and sharpening services for all makes and models.

Vortex has designed an award winning Tool Selection Guide app that simplifies tool selection based on a woodshop’s cutting needs. Users input the type of material being cut, the horsepower of the CNC machine, the tool diameter, the thickness of material and the type of cut desired. From there, the app will recommend the best tool for the task. It also includes calculators to determine chip-load, feed rate, RPM and metric conversions. Convenient links are also provided for the current Vortex Tool catalog and online ordering. The free app, which is an AWFS Visionary Award winner, is available for iPhone, iPad, Android phone or Android tablet.

Vortex recently launched a new website, too. It features detailed product information on more than a thousand tooling products. Its impeccable online ordering and responsive design make the site easy to view on all digital devices. From the homepage, dropdown menus allow tools to be easily located by series number, price, cutting edge diameter, cutting edge length, shank diameter and overall length. The new website provides online customers access to their own order history, that includes previous orders and payments, plus a live inventory of products. New items and information are uploaded frequently.

And Vortex’s new 112-page product catalog (#9) is now available. It includes thousands of tools divided into wood, plastic, insert and machine tool accessory sections. The new Composites/Aluminum section includes tools for cutting composites, fiberglass, aluminum and phenolic/paper-stone materials. The book also introduces new tool series and contains valuable technical information that can be used to calculate feeds and speeds for programming CNC machines. Vortex Tool Company maintains a huge inventory with over 10,000 tools in stock, so most orders ship the same day. And technical support is always just a phone call away.
