On my own

A while back, I suggested using Wordpress as a basis for a website. I still think this is a good way to go. The problem is that, when you manage your own site, you are kind of, well, on your own.

There is a really good online support community for Wordpress and answers to questions regarding customization can usually be found there.

But for your ISP, and any themes, plugins or other add-ons, support might not be so easily forthcoming. In those cases, you may have to depend on technical support. And woe is the person who gets stuck with technical support when it comes to computer-related issues.

I suppose, these days, this kind of frustration is not limited to computers. But there are more and more moments when I wish I could just work with wood and forget all of the other stuff!
