Every time I mention politics in these posts, the cinders burst in to flames. But there can be no doubt that the political climate affects business.

When things get rocky, people get nervous. The stock market goes all wonky and everyone ducks for cover. The end result for those of us "on the ground," as we like to say now, is that business falls off.

For the last six months, we have been experiencing the strangest political climate I can ever remember. It's like one of those freak storms that rages through and everyone talks about how they have "never seen anything like that before."

Whichever side of the fence you are on, you gotta admit that this is unprecedented. And the effect on business in general has not been good. It's like everyone is holding their breath, waiting to see what happens and wondering how what has already happened could possibly happen.

I can't wait for this one to settle down. I can only hope it does!
