Wood-Mizer adds the MP180
Wood-Mizer introduces the MP180 Jointer Planer Molder to its growing line of woodworking equipment.
Wood-Mizer introduces the MP180 Jointer Planer Molder to its growing line of woodworking equipment. An upgraded version of model MP160 jointer/planer, this hybrid machine allows end-users to easily switch between applications to produce tongue and groove paneling, trim and more, all in one compact footprint, the company explains.
“In addition to three-in-one versatility for jointing, planing, and molding, woodworkers will appreciate the convenient no-flip table for reduced downtime, compact footprint for easy workshop integration, and an adjustable fence for making angled boards,” says Chad Sanders, woodworking product specialist for Wood-Mizer.
The MP180 shares a horizontal cutter between two cast-iron tables to produce straight-edged boards with the top jointer table and evenly planed boards with the bottom planer table. End-users can simply switch applications by moving the board from one table to another without adjusting the table or stopping the cutter.
The MP180 also features a vertical side cutter that profiles material on one side with each pass through the bottom planer table. Profiles such as tongue and groove can be completed with only two passes. For these applications, two power feed rollers move material through the horizontal cutter and vertical side cutter at a variable speed.
The machine sets up as a 9” jointer with a table length of 55” and a 16” planer with a table length of 32-1/2”.
The MP180 starts at $7,995 and includes two horizontal and two vertical HSS planer knives.
