Grizzly adds a feature-rich 8” jointer
Grizzly Industrial presents a new 8” jointer with a spiral cutterhead, model G0490ZX, and a parallelogram table adjustment mechanism.
“This jointer is a parallelogram jointer with a four-row spiral cutterhead. We know that the spiral cutterhead is pretty much the future of all machines like this because of improved quality of cut, reduced noise level, and it saves the user time from sharpening,” says product manager Pat Raynor.
“Also, the parallelogram table adjustment feature is much easier to adjust whenever it’s out of adjustment. You can make the two tables parallel much easier than a dovetail wedge jointer, so I think the ease of adjustment is a big feature. Eventually, as the machine ages, you’re going to drop a heavy piece on the table and it’s going to get out of parallel, and that’s the beauty of the parallelogram, being able to easily adjust it to parallel.”
The jointer also features a 3-hp motor, 8” x 76” cast iron table, 5” high x 36” wide fence, pedestal-mounted on/off switch, 4” dust port, and built-in mobile base.
Model G0490ZX sells for $2,195 at grizzly.com.
