Weinig’s EasyStop increases efficiency and precision
Weinig’s EasyStop increases efficiency, precision.
Weinig’s EasyStop is a linear positioning system that allows complete flexibility while ensuring precision, power and quickness, according to the company. The tool can be used in a variety of work stations where a measurement is needed, including chop saws, bandsaws, radial arm saws, drill presses and more.
“It reduces the inaccuracy of tape measures by using a digital stop. If you want 32”, you don’t need to get your tape measure out to manually move your jig or fixture, you just punch it in and it goes to 32”, with 1mm accuracy,” explains Weinig’s Heath Magsig.
“The other nice thing about it is it has full optimization. This will cut automatically if you just tell it the length of the material. It will give you less waste and a better yield.”
The system is controlled through the OptiCom 7” touch screen that shows all relevant information at a glance and is quite easy to learn, regardless of the operator’s CNC skill level, according to the company.
In the Active Workpiece Transport mode, EasyStop automatically reads from a cutlist and positions the stock for accurate cuts at the required lengths. Thus, there’s no need for the operator to input dimensions.
The Stop System operating mode replaces time consuming one-off manual stop positioning. The workflow remains the same as the operator only needs to enter the desired position, align the workpieces against the stop and machine the workpiece, according to the company.
The system also has the MillVision shop managing software to create and complete workpiece flow across multiple machines and processes.
Weinig offers an in-feed metal table option.
The EasyStop is available in 5’, 11’, 13’ and 17.8’ travel lengths with prices ranging from $9,990 to $11,090.
