Valspar, a paint supplier from the Sherwin-Williams Consumer Brands Group, revealed its 2021 Colors of the Year, a palette of 12 shades that evoke “calm, serenity and simplicity”.
The company’s color experts say there’s a strong consumer interest in light to mid tones inspired by a desire for mindfulness and wellbeing, notably due to abrupt lifestyle changes, stress and uncertainty brought on by the ongoing pandemic.
“These lifestyle changes coupled with a surge in DIY home activity helped guide our selection of a range of colors for Valspar’s 2021 Colors of the Year that can not only transform your space but also elevate your mood,” the company said in a statement.
The colors are Blissful Blue, a muted indigo; Soft Candlelight, a yellow with a golden glow; Granite Dust; Cherry Taupe; Arizona Dust, an apricot shade; Garden Flower; Academy Gray; Unforgettable, a warm white; Gallery Gray; Dusty Lavender; Maple Leaf, a camel shade, and Lucy Blue.
All 12 colors are available at Lowe’s and independent retailers. For color codes, visit www.valspar.com.
