The HD Series, from Techno CNC Router Systems, is a bargain in today’s market, according to company sales manager Roy Valentine, who points to the series’ all-steel construction, THK rails and bearings, rack-and-pinion drives on the X- and Y-axes and a ball screw driven Z-axis.
“The limitation of the machine is the imagination of the end user. The machine can cut any 2-D or 3-D geometric shapes. We have customers using our HD Series routers for simple cabinetry box work, exotic customer millwork, furniture fabrication as well as ornate custom wood creations both in 2-D and 3-D,” says Valentine.
The most important feature, he says, is a heavy welded, stress-relieved frame that will stay accurate and square. “Machines made from kits or even aluminum frames will not offer such durability, especially against heavy cuts. This is probably one of the key factors in considering one of these types of machines for a long-term investment.
“We’ve been able to engineer an all-steel 4' x 8' machine with a precision HSD Italian-manufactured spindle, multizone vacuum table and 10-hp Becker rotary vane vacuum pump for a selling price of $26,500.”
