The new Shop Fox 10” Hybrid Table Saw with Extension Table (model W1851) has special features to help with accuracy, productivity and dust control, according to its producer, Woodstock International.

Among the saw’s highlights is a dual position rip fence, according to product manager Todd Ransom.

“For making narrow rip cuts or working with thin pieces, you can move the position of that fence down to get your hands down in there and hold a workpiece steady. Otherwise you have 3-1/2” to 4” of fence height that you’re working around. There is a jig you can make for narrow gripping, but this is built into the fence,” says Ransom.

The saw has a 2-hp motor, prewired for 220 volts. A kit is available to convert the saw to run on 110 volts.

The saw also features a 27” x 55” table with a melamine extension. Ransom notes that similar competing models don’t have a table for the extension, just an open space.

“Another thing that bigger cabinet saws have that we have here is a miter gauge fence extension with flip stops. So, instead of just a miter gauge, a fence supports the workpiece better, and having the flip stops allow you to crosscut repeatable cuts easily,” says Ransom.

The left-tilt saw has a maximum rip capacity of 30” to the right and 12” to the left.

Other features include a Poly-V serpentine belt, a built-in dust collection shroud under the blade, quick-release blade guard and riving knife, and trunnions mounted directly to the saw’s cabinet, according to the company.

The saw sells for $1,350.
