KIREI has introduced Windfall, a line of designer panels made from reclaimed lumber salvaged from industrial demolition sites.
Kirei says its Windfall panels can contribute to LEED and other green-building credits for reclaimed/recycled content, certified wood, indoor air quality and the regional materials credit for projects within a 500-mile radius of its manufacturing facility in Solana Beach, Calif. FOAMKORE FR, from Kerfkore Co., is a Class A lightweight panel that meets ASTM E 84 certifications. It consists of a high-density magnesium oxide board face that is nonflammable and noncombustible combined with a lightweight polystyrene core. The product contains no added formaldehyde and offers a 60 percent weight reduction when compared to FR particleboard and MDF, according to the company. HARDWOOD SPECIALTY PRODUCTS has introduced O2 bamboo veneer and solid panels, available as 100 percent FSC-certified and made with no added formaldehyde. The species used in O2 bamboo is Phyllostachys pubescens, also known as mao or moso bamboo, which grows in China’s largest bamboo forest.
