Pro Edge Technology presents the Elev8 for 8mm bore and dowel insertion, plus 3-axis CNC edge routing.

“Instead of building a simple bore and dowel machine and have it sit there, we built a combination machine,” says Dale Bucy, owner of Pro Edge Technology. “Using a bore and dowel machine is a very quick process, and only 20 percent of your panels would go through that. So, we built a machine that (shops) can use for the rest of the day when they still have door production and other applications like hardware and pocket screws.”

For bore, glue and dowel insertion, the machine features three variable-speed electro spindles, offering a speed range of 4,000 to 12,000 rpm. The dowel injector unit is pneumatically shuttled, while a photo eye is used to detect and ensure a dowel is loaded. It also has stainless steel tanks, vibrator bowl and automatic magazine wood dowel feeder, and a tool touch-off device that measures the length of the tools on all three spindles.

The Elev8 has four working zones, each having two sets of hold down clamps for parts up to 50mm (2”) thick. It offers vertical routing capabilities on the bottom surface of a panel and has CNC servo drive motors on all
three axes.

Other features include a Dell PC and monitor, wireless keyboard and bar code reader, and user-friendly programming prompts.

The machine’s footprint is approximately 157” long, 113” wide, and 82” high.
