Micro Fence offers new plunge base

Micro Fence introduced the Micro Plunge Base for use with high-speed rotary tools. The company has a similar product for use with compact routers, the Precision Plunge Base, introduced in 2012.

The 4” diameter base is fairly simple to use. After setting the depth stop to preset depths of 1/32”, 1/16” and 1/8”, precise adjustments can be made with the micrometer dial that’s accurate to .001”, according to the company.

“And that’s the difference between Micro Fence and everything else in the market,” says company president Richard Wedler. “This gives you machine tool measurement. It also offers a silky smooth plunge action, extreme stability and precision, and maximum visibility.”

The base is compatible with Dremel, Foredom, Powercrafter, Proxson, Milwaukee and other brands of rotary tools, according to the company. It’s also compatible with Porter-Cable template guide bushings.

The base provides a vertical travel of 1.875”.

The Micro Plunge Base sells for $299.95. Optional accessories include a dust hood kit, additional LED light sources, mounting bar and a 4” diameter horseshoe-style base.
