Festool rolls into Vegas with new work solutions

Publish date:

Festool’s roadshow hauler stood out as one of the more memorable exhibits at AWFS. It’s kind of hard to miss a giant truck, branded from stem to stern, Nascar style. Inside were a couple of newer tools, including the SE2 vacuum clamping module and STL 450 inspection light.

The SE 2 has an oval-shaped (10.8” x 3.9”) vacuum pod, joining the circle-shaped SE 1 in Festool’s USA VAC SYS (vacuum system) category.

Both modules feature a suction base that adheres to nonporous surfaces, rotates 360 degrees and swivels up to 90 degrees. They are available in a system set, which includes the vacuum pump, foot valve and one or two clamping modules.

The inspection light helps detect flaws and unevenness in workpieces being sanded or finished. It features a highly focused LED light cone to detect imperfections during the work process.

The SE 1 and SE 2 products are currently available, while the inspection light is scheduled for availability in the fall.

Festool also made news at the show with the announcement it is supplying a custom spindle for the Shaper Origin, a hand-held CNC router.
