ETemplate adds Xbox controller option
ETemplate Systems now offers customers the ability to use an Xbox remote for overall control of its ELaser Pro Series systems.
ETemplate Systems, the maker of ELaser measuring products, is now offering customers the ability to use an Xbox remote for overall control of its ELaser Pro Series systems.
This EController integration, as it’s called, correlates with the system’s Measure Manager software to operate the ELaser Pro’s laser head. It’s ideal for those who want a more simplified hand-held product on the jobsite with much more functionality, according to the company.
“The controller was designed for clients that have asked about a more updated controller, because the younger generation that’s coming into the industry, they’re already playing with Xbox controllers. So, it’s something they feel comfortable with,” says Ted Allen, vice president ETemplate Systems.
“The Xbox controller will not only give them control over the motorized head, but also the functions that are built into the software in the head. So, we can we point, direct, and move with the head and we also have the option of making software selections.”
The controller connects to the system via Bluetooth. Customers can purchase or use their own Xbox controller, or order one from ETemplate Systems.
“We made it so it’s non-proprietary. They can even swipe their kid’s controller if they want. They just get the EController update as part of their software for their Pro Series system we sell,” adds Allen.
The ELaser Pro Series is a measuring and modeling system that provides enhanced 3D measuring accuracy and control. Using unique best fit calculations and the ability to define multiple 2D work planes, ELaser creates intelligent CAD/BIM models that are friendly to CAD solid modelers and other design software solutions. Files are exportable in a variety of formats, including, DXF, DWG, IGES, and more, according to the company.
