Biesse presents the Akron 1100 single-sided edgebander, a compact, entry-level machine for smaller shops looking to modernize their equipment and automate production, according to the company.
“The extreme compact size of Akron 1100 immediately saves space in the production area. Thoughtful ergonomics contribute to its user-friendly nature and better technologies facilitate daily work,” the company said in a statement.
“All manual adjustments are intuitive, using simple numerical indicators. The standard control is a 7” touchscreen; the only one on the market in this range. The highly intuitive interface features a few large keys and lots of images for ease of use.”
The machine is fitted with Rotax motors from HSD, dust collection, removeable glue pot, a rigid structure, and linear guides with ball bearings for precision, according to the company.
The machine offers a speed rate of 9 meters per minute. It accepts a panel height of 8 to 50mm and edgebanding from 3 to 5mm thick.
Standard features also include an edge trimmer, buffing and grooving units, and multi-purpose corner rounding tool.
Akron edgebanders provide logistical feedback, productivity levels and troubleshooting information.
