Olon Industries, a manufacturer of moldings, drawers and components for the cabinet making and furniture industry, recently announced the acquisition of Carolina Drawers, which is based in Lexington, N.C.

The timing of this acquisition is key and continues Olon’s strategy to strengthen its U.S. manufacturing presence and expand its product offer, the company said in a statement.

“We are very excited about the strategic fit between CDI and Olon and the synergies created,” Olon Industries president and CEO Don Hambly said. “CDI’s customer base and product offer are a perfect complement to Olon’s growing business.”

Carolina Drawers is a manufacturer of solid wood and plywood drawers. Carolina Drawers founder and owner Jeff Mast will continue as a key leader in the Olon organization and will help to ensure a smooth transition and continued success, the company said.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Carolina Drawers,” Mast said. “By joining forces with Olon, we will leverage the expertise and resources of Olon to take CDI to the next level.”

Olon’s drawer components offer focuses on Chinese plywood, particleboard-based products and wrapped drawer components. Conversely, Carolina Drawers offers an impressive collection of solid wood drawer components sourced from around the world, as well as a complete line of Baltic birch plywood products. From their three plants, Carolina Drawers is vertically integrated with operations spanning from kiln drying and rough milling through to UV finishing, dovetailing and drawer box assembly.
