The Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers welcomed Michael Fabbri, national sales manager for King Plastic Corp., and Jamie Goodwin, most recently serving as Western channel manager for Accuride International, as the newest additions to its board of directors at the Woodworking Industry Conference, which was held April 21-24 in San Antonio.
Both new members were appointed following the departures of former board members Ed Fiantaca and Gene Valcke.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Goodwin has three years of prior experience working with the AWFS trade show committee and was responsible for bringing the Belt Sander Racing Association competition to the AWFS fair in 2007.
“I am excited to be working on this board and look forward to utilizing my experience in helping AWFS advance its mission of strengthening the woodworking industry through its programs in education, its commitment to public policy and the production of its biennial Fair in Las Vegas,” Goodwin said in a statement.
Fabbri oversees all of King Plastic’s products in North America and Europe in the marine, architectural and industrial industries.
“Being new to the board and invited to promote the plastic industry to the woodworking community is a great opportunity for King Plastic Corporation and the plastic industry,” Fabbri said. “We will help educate AWFS members on a variety of plastic materials and how they will interact in the woodworking community.”
“I want to give special thanks to Ed Fiantaca and Gene Valcke for their invaluable contribution and time spent as members of our board,” AWFS president Wade Gregory says. “That said, I also look forward to the new viewpoints and knowledge that Michael and Jamie will bring to the association.”
