ONEIDA PRO SERIES AIR SYSTEMS are an upgrade from the company's 2-hp and 3-hp commercial systems. Both systems have larger Baldor motors, a heavier 14-gauge barrel and a rectangular inlet for higher cfm. The Pro Series model 1500 has a 1-1/2-hp motor, operates at 1,593 cfm and has 110 sq. ft. of filter media. The Pro 2000 has a 2-hp motor, operates at 1,973 cfm and has 130 sq. ft. of filter media. Each system comes with a filter efficiency gauge that helps determine when your filter needs cleaning, heavy-duty wall brackets, magnetic starter, 35-gallon fiber drum, and a square-to-round inlet. The Pro 1500 has an introductory price of $1,340 and the Pro 2000 sells for $1,590. Contact: Oneida Air Systems, 1001 W. Fayette St., Syracuse, NY 13204. Tel: 800-732-4065.

ZEM HEARING PROTECTORS are comfortable and weigh only 1.7 oz. The protectors have the ability to filter out harmful noise while still allowing speech to be heard, and also keep dust and other particulates out of the user's ears. Available from Lee Valley, the protectors' patented design redirects and dissipates high-decibel sound. The protectors have a noise-reduction rating of 26 dB. The ZEM hearing protectors sell for $18.50 and replacement cuffs (two pair) are priced at $1.95. Contact: Lee Valley Tools Ltd., P.O. Box 1780, Ogdensburg, NY 13669-6780. Tel: 800-871-8158.

CYCLONE SEPARATORS from Gary MacIntyre Associates are offered with two inlet sizes, 4" and 6". The cyclone separators are designed to go between a woodworking piece of machinery, like a jointer or planer, and a dust collector. The cyclone doesn't have a fan motor since dust collectors are equipped with their own. Most dust collectors in the 650-cfm range have one inlet of 4". Larger units of 1,200-cfm have two inlets of 4", or by taking off the Y adapter, one inlet of 6". Since many machines have an outlet size of 4" it makes it easy to run a hose directly from the dust collector to the cyclone. The 4" and 6" cyclone separators are priced at $169 each. JDS CYCLONES are two additions to the company's line of cyclone dust collection machines. The cyclones offer a compact size, powerful performance and quiet operation, according to the company. The 3-hp cyclone stands 87" tall. A turbo-fan impeller design provides 1,700 cfm of free air and 1,100 cfm of pulling power at 12 inches of static pressure. The 2-hp cyclone stands only 76" tall yet has pulling power of 1,450 cfm of free air and 520 cfm at 12 inches of static pressure. The JDS cyclones have a one-micron canister that is equipped with a cleaning wheel. The collector basket holds a clear plastic bag. The 3-hp model is priced at $1,495 and the 2-hp unit sells for $999. Contact: JDS Company, 108 Leventis Dr., Columbia, SC 29209. Tel: 800-480-7269.
