DeWalt has added a new line of professional-grade hand tools and storage products which includes more than 100 items such as utility knives, pliers, wrenches, tape measures, hammers, saws and toolboxes.
“The complete line will consist of tools that a woodworker could use day in and day out. In categories such as layout, chisels, cutting, measuring, sawing and nailing, we see a need for these tools in the woodworking industry. Products such as handsaws and nail sets are a staple in every woodworker’s arsenal and we have brought innovation to these categories to suite their needs,” says Tracie Gildea, DeWalt’s director of global brand marketing.
Gildea says that DeWalt conducted user research in creating a hand-tool line and it resulted in a positive response, given the fact that the company is well-known for its success in manufacturing professional power tools and accessories.
The offerings include a 15-ounce framing hammer (model DWHT51138); 25' tape measure (DWHT33385); power tool case with tote (DWST24070); folding retractable utility knife (DWHT10035); and several adjustable wrenches.
The framing hammer is made of steel and touts a lightweight design. It provides contractors with the strength and durability they need to maximize their level of productivity, while helping to minimize arm fatigue, says Gildea. It retails for $59.99.
The tape measure features a specially designed 3M thermoplastic film adhered to the first six inches of the blade to extend the lifespan of the product, a durable casing and rubber slide lock. It retails for $24.99.
The power tool case with tote is a two-in-one toolbox that provides contractors with a portable storage option for tools and small accessories. This storage solution allows for power tools, hand tools and small parts such as drill bits and nails to be organized in the power tool case. For internal storage customization, the tool case has a removable divider that stores larger items in the bottom of the tote, helping to eliminate the need for multiple tool bags. It retails for $25.
The utility knife combines the convenience and space savings of a folding knife with the cutting performance of a traditional utility knife, according to the company, and retails for $9.99.
The adjustable wrenches are available in five sizes — 6", 8", 10", 12" and 15" — and retail for $10.99 to $34.99.
The DeWalt hand tools will be available at The Home Depot and independent distributors.
