Colonial Saw offers the latest fasteners from Lamello, including the Clamex P, a plastic biscuit joinery system for joining any miter angle without glue or screws.
“This could be used as a replacement for metal cam and dowel RTA connectors and it’s almost invisible,” product manager Karl Frey says. “It’s durable and can be assembled and disassembled many times over without damaging the material.
“The typical use is that parts can be shipped flat and assembled on sight and assembly time is dramatically reduced.”
The plastic connectors slide into precut slots, made with Lamello’s Zeta P2 biscuit joiner or a CNC machine. A cam lever, tightened with a hexagon key, pulls the joint together.
The connectors are available for panels 16 to 30 mm and thinner materials. There’s also a new center panel connector called the Clamex Medius.
Colonial Saw is also running a special promotion on the Lamello Classic X biscuit and connector joiner. The Classic X features a 780-watt motor and a flush base plate on both sides of the machine, allowing access to tight corners, for example.
For a limited time, the Classic X is available in a sturdy wooden case with a box of 700 No. 20 biscuits for $599. The promotion begins Nov. 11 and ends Dec. 31.
