Airlessco, a division of Graco, is offering two of its most durable ‘airless’ sprayers — models EZ570 and EZ700 — through its EZ Rent program.
Capable of handling water-based paints, oil coatings, 100 percent acrylics, stains and varnishes, the EZ Rent sprayers are suitable for a variety of users including professional contractors, facility managers and homeowners, according to product manager Tony Sabo. He says the sprayers are particularly ideal for custom woodworkers because of their ease of use and low maintenance requirements.
“In the past, airless spraying might have been intimidating to [woodworkers] because the machine would be troublesome to clean and maintain. There was also a perception that paint sprayers are equated with a retail unit that spits and sprays the product onto the finished good, where that isn’t true with this [program ’s] piston-pump technology,” says Sabo.
The EZ Rent models feature a .9-hp DC motor and generate 3,000 psi at maximum operating pressure. Both models are capable of pumping directly from 1- or 5-gallon paint containers and weigh less than 75 lbs.
Both models feature a stainless-steel piston pump that protects the piston, packings, valve seats and check balls, and extends the life cycle of the entire unit. Electronic components are stored in a stainless-steel casing to protect them from paint and other contaminants.
“As the pump works over time, the packings tend to become loose and pushed apart. [But] with our packing system, the packing tension can be adjusted with an easy turn by hand. These units will get a much longer life with this upgraded technology,” says Sabo.
To eliminate pulsation and erratic spraying, the EZ Rent series features an electronic pressure control system, while a large, easy-to-use LCD display eliminates the guesswork of selecting pressure settings.
Daily cleanup is accomplished with the optional Quick Flush adapter and standard garden hose.
Rental units cost between $60 and $90 per day depending on the customer’s location. New, reused and refurbished models are available for purchase and start at $400.
