WPMA offering discounted FSC certification

Going green is good for business. So, to help companies gain a competitive edge by implementing more environmentally friendly business and production practices, the Wood Products Manufacturers Association recently partnered with the WoodNet Market Council to provide members with access to discounted Forest Stewardship Council group certification services.

The discount lowers the average cost of FSC certification to $500 per year for WPMA members, compared to a $3,000 to $8,500 expense for nonmembers, according to the trade group’s figures.

Participating WPMA members will also receive assistance from WoodNet Market Council staff to develop the required paperwork and prepare for annual audits.
