Rikon introduced a new 10” x 18” pen lathe, model 70-105, with five speed range, suitable for boring barrel holes, roughing out pen billets, turning them to shape and finishing, according to the company.
“This lathe can handle spindle projects up to 18” long with a 7-1/4” swing over the tool rest,” the company said in a statement. “The ample 10” swing over the lathe bed allows bowls or platters to be made up to 10” in diameter. Its 1/2-hp, 1,700-rpm motor provides ample power for any turning project.
It sells for about $300.
