Midwest Fine Furnishings Show picks six

Six exhibitors at the 11th annual Midwest Fine Furnishings Show, held Sept. 16-18 in Wauwatosa, Wis., earned juried awards.

The winners were:

• John McWilliam of Scathain (Milwaukee) for New Product Debut/Furniture

• Michael Lamar of Michael Lamar Lighting (Providence, R.I.) for New Product Debut/Accessory

• Lance Johnson of Lance Thomas Industrial Artwork (New Berlin, Wis.) for New Product Debut/Fine Art or Craft

• Kyle Huntoon of Hunt & Noyer Woodworks (Detroit) for Market Excellence (Marc Harrison Award)

• MacKenzie Pankey of Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (Milwaukee) for Student Work/Furniture

• John Dempsey of A Makers Knack (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) for the Wisconsin designer Crafts Council Fine Craftsmanship Award

Judges were John Edbauer of Fringe Interior Design and Home Furnishings in Whitefish Bay, Wis., and Lena Vigna, curator of exhibitions for the Racine Art Museum in Racine, Wis.
