Makita USA introduces the new 18-volt LXT Wall/Floor Scanner to detect objects in concrete and masonry surfaces.

“It is ideal for MEP, HVAC, drywall, ceiling, and general contractors, as well as glaziers, elevator installers, and millwork carpenters. The scanner is capable of detecting a variety of embedded objects including metals, wood, plastic, and shielded electrical wire up to 7” deep,” the company said in a statement.

“The user interface displays center, edge position, and relative width and depth of embedded objects.”

The scanner kit, DWD181R1J, with 2.0Ah battery and 18-volt LXT charger, sells for $1,549.
